Honorable/Esteemed President/Principal/Headmaster, respected Chief Guest/Chief Speaker /Teachers, and my friends. I am very happy to express the Utkal Divas as the pride day of Odias.
Actually, we are very proud to be an Indian as well an Odia. Today is the day of First April. This day is well known as Utkal Diwas. It is noticed that our Odisha was truly was truly recognised as a separate state on 1st April 1936.
After this day we observe the Utkal Divas all over the state with great pride and brotherhood. Our history says, Utkal lost her great Independence when the last king of Odisha Mukunda Dev was defeated in the famous battle Gohira Tikiri. In 1803 the Britishers ruled Odisha for a long period.
The cruel English men ruled over India and Odisha many parts were separated and mixed with the neighboring states. Seeing this type of mental torture the greatmen Utkal Gourav Madhusudan Das united all Odias. With him many great personalities stretched their hands.
There were Krushna Chandra Gajapati, Gourisankar Ray, Rama Chandra Mardharaj, Godabarisha Mishra, Dr Harekrishana Mohatab etc, they gave their efforts to free Odisha.
Hence on December 24, 1932 Odisha was an nounced a separate state legally as well as constitutionally and after three years that means in 1936, Odisha become special state by the Indian Ruling Act.
The king of Parala Krushan Chandra Gajapati became the great first Prime Minister of Odisha. Let us come to remember the great odias who had sacrificed their lives for the self of Odisha. After fighting many years the Odia Language be come the classical language.
For which the Odia, become the sixth great language among other languages in our constitution.
