Konark, the Hindu Sun-god temple, is situated on the sands of the Chandrabhaga River. It is located in Puri district in Orissa.

The Konark temple was built around seven hundred years ago. It was built by Emperor Langula Narasimha Dev of the Ganga dynasty, who ruled his empire from his capital, Puri. Twelve hundred masons worked for sixteen years to complete the construction of this temple. This temple is unique in its Cheet Ural beauty.
